Whether fixes are as simple as replacing lightbulbs, or as complex as adding insulation or installing new appliances, qualified homeowners and tenants are made safer by CAVC Weatherization services. Homeowners and tenants can save up to 40% on their utility bills simply by their homes becoming energy efficient with CAVC Weatherization. Our goal is to make homes more energy efficient and safer for families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:16<\/strong> Our team will go out to your home to inspect, test, repair, or replace items.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:24<\/strong> Such as your water heater, on which tests will be run looking at any carbon monoxide spillage, or if it has been deemed hazardous, we will inspect for replacement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:33<\/strong> We may look at the need for attic insulation and inspect that your furnace is in working order, taking readings of any carbon monoxide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:40<\/strong> Then our team will move on to check your kitchen appliances, which include the stove, oven, and even your microwave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:50<\/strong> If your fireplace is a gas appliance, that will also be tested for carbon monoxide readings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>00:58<\/strong> Low-flow shower heads and aerators can save up to five percent on water heating costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>01:05<\/strong> Doors will be inspected for weather stripping needs to ensure that they&#8217;re sealing properly from cold breezes or carbon monoxide coming from the garage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>01:13<\/strong> We will also provide carbon monoxide detectors and energy-efficient light bulbs for your home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>01:21<\/strong> We encourage you to call us at 805-436-4035 to begin the process in making your home more energy efficient.<\/p>\n\t<p>Community Action of Ventura County invites subcontractors to submit a proposal for Home Weatherization, Water Heaters and Furnaces. Newly fixed doors can save between 5 and 25 percent on heating and cooling costs.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Installing low-flow shower heads and aerators<\/b> can save up to 5 percent on water heating costs.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Replacing electrical outlet and switch gaskets<\/b> can save up to 3 percent on heating and cooling costs.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tReplace older washer\/dryer with new  energy saving models.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Installing energy-efficient light bulb<\/b> provide the same quality as incandescent bulbs while using 75% less energy. \n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Fixing and or replacing broken glass<\/b> reduces the cost of heating a home during the winter and cooling in the summer. Replacing broken glass also improves comfort and safety.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Inspecting, testing, repairing, or replacing broken\/hazardous furnaces, stoves, and water heaters<\/b> upon inspection after being deemed hazardous.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t<b>Providing and installing carbon monoxide detectors<\/b> to keep families safe in their homes.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\tThe first step in weatherizing a home or apartment is determining eligibility.
